Matt Miller, 37, of Midland and formerly of Beal City, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, from 4-8 p.m. at Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler, Midland. No formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Miller family to set up an education fund for Matts daughters. Checks may be made payable to Ainsley and Avery Miller and forwarded to either Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home in Midland, or the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Matt was born July 29, 1971, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Bernard Gene and Mary A. (Jones) Miller. He graduated from Beal City High School in 1989 and received a B.A. from Central Michigan University in 1993. On June 28, 1997, Matt married Michele Walling at Sacred Heart Church. He later earned an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2001. He enjoyed politics, history, and tennis. Matt will be remembered, mostly, for his wonderful sense of humor and for the love he shared with his daughters and wife. Matt is survived by his wife, Michele of Midland; two daughters, Ainsley and Avery at home; parents, Gene and Mary Miller of Mt. Pleasant; six siblings, Karen (Paul) Gross of Beal City, Karla (Doug) Stewart of Petoskey, Ken Miller of Mt. Pleasant, Kal Miller of Mt. Pleasant, Bernie (Darlene) Miller of Beal City, and Dan (Julie) Miller of Mt. Pleasant; father-in-law, James (Florrie) Walling of Dearborn; brother-in-law, Bryan (Sunshine) Walling of Cincinnati, OH; sisters-in-law, Beth and Meghan Walling of Dearborn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Eddie Kay Walling.
