Matthew Sharrar, 20, of Beal City died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in Mt. Pleasant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 13, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City with Father Thomas J. McNamara presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln, 5-9 p.m. Saturday, 3-9 p.m. Sunday, and 9-9:30 a.m. Monday. No visitation will be held at St. Joseph Church prior to the Mass. The vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph School, Beal City Athletic Department, or Childrens Special Health Care Services. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Matt was born July 10, 1988, in Alma, the son of Joseph and Diane (Zeien) Sharrar. He graduated from Beal City High School in 2007 as a standout athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. He was currently attending Central Michigan University where he worked as a graphic artist and belonged to the club golf team. He was a former altar server and lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish. He loved children. Matt leaves behind his father, Joseph (Sandy) Sharrar of Beal City; mother, Diane (Tom) Konwinski of Beal City; brothers, Mike (Shannon Faber), Justin, and Josh; sister, Kyleigh; paternal grandparents, Dave and Marcella Sharrar of Beal City; maternal grandparents, Steve and Joyce Zeien of Beal City; aunts and uncles, Brian (Denise Schafer) Sharrar and Randy (Pam) Sharrar, both of Beal City, Tom (Amy) Sharrar of Mt. Pleasant, Barb (Mike) Steffke and Dave (Jamie) Zeien, both of Beal City, Mike (Danielle) Zeien of Mt. Pleasant, Dale (Sarah) Zeien of Rosebush, Kim (John) Tilmann of Midland, Sheryl (Jason) Gottleber of Beal City, Brenda (Kris) Pung of Lisle, IL, Jodi (Brad) Gross of Beal City, and Laurie Zeien of Lake Isabella; and many cousins.
