Mattie L. Cooper

Mattie Cooper, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, and formerly of Sarasota, FL, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Central Michigan Community Hospital with her family by her side. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. The family is being served by Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Mattie was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Butler County, KY, the daughter of the late Elmer and Nellie (Simms) Deel. She moved to Mt. Pleasant in 2003 from Sarasota. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Robert Bob and Irene Price of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Dianna Dee Epple of Mt. Pleasant, Jim Price III of Lake Isabella, Dannette (Mike) Beltinck of Auburn Hills, and John Price of Mt. Pleasant; six great-grandchildren, Theresa, Emily, and Jacob Epple and Alex, Ben, and Isabel Beltinck; great-great-grandson, Isaac Frederick; niece, Barbara Messick; and nephew, Tom Meadows. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Cooper; son, Richard Price; and sister, Gladys Meadows.
