Melanie Aynn Socey

Melanie Aynn Socey, aged 63, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at McLaren Central Michigan. Born on April 3, 1963, in Flint, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of the late Russell C. and Pauline M. Parker. Melanie was the eldest of five siblings, followed in birth by her siblings Russell, Marc, Valerie, and Jon. She worked as a cashier in Houghton Lake before moving to Mt. Pleasant in 2022. Melanie had a passion for watching TV, adored cats, and enjoyed chocolate shakes and music, especially Rock N Roll concerts.

She leaves behind two children, Kristie Parker of Mt. Pleasant and Samantha Socey of Arizona; grandchildren, Jasmine Parker, Wyatt Butson, and Nevaeh Butson; siblings, Russell (Lori) Parker, Marc (Tara) Parker, and Valerie Kennedy; and several nieces and nephews.

Melanie joins her deceased family members: parents, Russell and Pauline Parker; brother, Jon Parker; and son, Timothy Socey; and her beloved feline companion, Whiskers.

Cremation has taken place.
