Michael Joseph Fitzpatrick

Michael Fitzpatrick, 46, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, at home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Don Henkes presiding and Deacon Jim Damitio assisting. Mikes ashes will be interred in Calvary Cemetery following the Mass. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday one hour prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Fitzpatrick family to help further the education of Mikes children. Mike was born Sept. 11, 1964, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Charles J. and Nancy K. (Joslin) Fitzpatrick. A 1982 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Mike married Nora Lee Natzel on May 24, 1986. He owned and operated MF Enterprises. He was a good athlete and shared his talents by coaching Sacred Hearts Varsity Golf Team and JV Football team. He also coached basketball and Rocket football. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing. Mike will be remembered as a father who loved his children, his family and a person who was fun loving, friendly and outgoing. Mike is survived by his two children, Christopher Fitzpatrick and Kaitlin Fitzpatrick, both of Mt. Pleasant and their mother, Nora Lee Fitzpatrick; parents, Charles and Nancy Fitzpatrick of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Kelly (Dan) Thomas of Grand Rapids, Kathy (Shawn) OMara of Grand Rapids, and Meighan Fitzpatrick of St. Clair Shores; maternal grandmother, June Fitzpatrick of Mt. Pleasant; nieces and nephews, Logan and Jacob Thomas and Donovan, Madelyn, Connor and Caden OMara; special friend, Dawn Peddie of Mt. Pleasant and her children, Hunter and Logan Buczkowski; and numerous aunt and uncles.
