Michael Louis Fussman, 78, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026, at Comfort Care Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant.
He was born on September 3, 1947, in Isabella County, Michigan, son of the late Joseph and Ida (Schafer) Fussman. He was the 5th of 9 children, joining his elder siblings, Jack, Larry, Pat, and Bill and his younger siblings, Tom, George, Steve, and Mary.
He graduated from Beal City High School in the top 5 of his class. He married Marian Louise McKillip on May 20, 1967, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City.
He was employed by General Motors in Lansing for 34 years and continued working in the automotive industry for another 17 years. He retired in January of 2024.
Some of Mike's favorite pastimes were working, mowing his lawn, watching NASCAR, and was a huge University of Michigan fan. He liked to restore cars, play cards, and socialize with his friends.
Mike is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marian; children, Stephanie (Shane Davidson) Fussman of Alma and Brad (Courtney) Fussman of Beal City; grandchildren, Braven (Derek) Teed and Tyler Davidson, and Ella Fussman, Lola Fussman, and Avry Fussman; siblings, Larry (Kathy) Fussman of Mt. Pleasant, George (Terri) Fussman of Mt. Pleasant, Steve Fussman of Beal City, and Mary (Mike) Wanagat of Sandusky, OH; in-laws, Janet Fussman, Peggy Fussman, Sheila (Sim) Wernette, Jean Ann (Jerry) McClain and Susie (Steve) Hardenburgh, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ida Fussman; parents-in-law, Ray and Glenda McKillip; and siblings, Jack Fussman, Pat Fussman, Bill Fussman, and Tom Fussman; and in-laws, Linda Fussman and Joe McKillip.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a time and date to be announced.
