Michael Ley, 67, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at home with his family at his side. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. His ashes will be interred in Riverside Cemetery immediately following with a luncheon to conclude at the Eagles Club. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mike was born April 5, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Edward William and Mary Louise (Cross-Bader) Ley. He married Barbara Potter on April 25, 1980, in Mt. Pleasant. Their marriage was blessed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 1998. He worked as a truck driver for many years for numerous companies. Some of his favorite pastimes were ice fishing, tractor pulling, riding horses, camping, playing cards, mowing his lawn, and just being outdoors. Mike is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara; two children, Edward (Shannon) Ley of Mt. Pleasant and Jennifer (Jeb) Gilbert of Shepherd; five grandchildren, Patricia (fiancee, Blake Way) Sampson, Shania (Cameron Washington) Presley, and Kaden, Jean, and Seth Gilbert; one great-grandson, Parker Way; and brother, David (Tracey Bartell) Ley of Farwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Francis (Zawacki) Ley; and mother-in-law, Mary Potter.
