Michael Scully, 60, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Rosebush Manor in Rosebush. A Funeral Mass for Mike will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Rosebush Manor, MidMichigan Hospice, or Childrens Healing Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mike was born June 3, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, son of Robert Joseph and Esther Irene (Halfmann) Scully. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1973. He was employed by Quality Farm and Fleet for nearly 20 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed photography, fishing and listening to music. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mike is survived by three children, Melissa (Matthew) Block of Lowell, Laura (Andrew) Morrill of Caledonia, and Eric Scully of Lake Isabella; four grandchildren, Claire and Kaleb Block and Riley and Hazel Morrill; his mother, Esther Scully-Cotter of Mt. Pleasant; siblings, Sue (Dale) Sandy of Shepherd, Diane (Mark) McConnell of Clare, Kay (Rick) Pieratt, Tom (Sue) Scully and Dan (fiance Emily Scott) Scully all of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert in 1985; and two nieces Michelle and Christine Hauck. Mike appreciated and enjoyed beautiful sunny days. His catch-phrase, Its nice out there was known by many. The family thanks Rosebush Manor for treating Mike like part of their own family during the past four years.
