Midge Running

Midge Running, 88, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Howell passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital in Saginaw. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be interred next to her husband in Middlefield, Ohio. Memorials may be made to the Commission on Aging or to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd. Midge was born March 17, 1920, the daughter of Alton and Edith (Hillier) Butler. She married the late Ernest Running on June 30, 1938. She moved to Howell in 1998 from Middlefield, Ohio. She has lived in Mt. Pleasant the past three years. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Midge is survived by her daughter, Carol (Frank) Sweeney of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Ernest, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Anita Spitler; two brothers; three sisters; and two half-sisters.
