Mollee M. Mcfarlane

Margaret Mollee McFarlane, 55, of Venice, Florida, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, surrounded by her family. In 2012, Mollee was diagnosed with cancer. She always fought with a positive attitude, enduring endless chemotherapy treatments and surgeries. For six years she was determined to fight for her life and be available to her family, friends, and coworkers. Despite all the physical pain and emotional stress that she suffered, she never failed to stay optimistic or lend a helping hand to others. She was truly an inspiration to all and will be greatly missed. Mollee was born October 12, 1962, in Clare, Michigan, daughter of the Jerry Brainerd and Rose Marie (Neyer) McFarlane. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1980 and attended Northwood University. Mollee is survived by her husband Donald Simpson of Venice, FL; three children, Caitlyn (fianc, Joseph Cacioppo) Simpson, Alicia Simpson, and Megan Simpson, all of Venice, FL; mother, Rose McFarlane of Venice, FL; siblings, Michael McFarlane of Lake Worth, FL, Melissa (Charlie) Townsend of Springfield, OH, and Mari (David) Campbell of Sturgis; and several aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mollee was preceded in death by her father, Jerry; and several close family members. A Funeral Mass for Mollee will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski as celebrant and Deacon Larry Fussman assisting. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to Mass. A luncheon will follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. Interment of Mollees ashes will be in Calvary Cemetery, next to her father, Jerry. In lieu of flowers, Mollees family is asking for financial contributions to the American Cancer Society, Tidewell Hospice, or to assist with Megans college education fund. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home.
