Nancy was born October 17, 1936, in Royal Oak, the daughter of Lyle and Edith (Watson) Walker. She graduated from Troy High School in 1954 and received her Associates degree in Business from Western Michigan College in 1956, where she met her future husband, Charles Lux. They were married April 7, 1956 at St. Andrews Church in Rochester. From 1956-1975 Nancy raised seven children while Charles worked away from home. In 1975 they moved from West Bloomfield, purchased J. J. Rush Funeral Home, and owned and operated Lux Funeral Home in downtown Mt. Pleasant until 1998. They worked side-by-side to make the funeral home as comfortable as possible to the families they served. Nancy loved her parish family at Sacred Heart and was actively involved as a teacher of religious education for 9 years, a member of the church choir, Parish Council, Worship Commission, Finance Committee and served as a eucharistic minister. She also taught religious education for 6 years at St. Coleman in Farmington and sang in its choir. She was an avid golfer as a former member of the Mt. Pleasant Country Club, enjoyed gardening, and belonged to the Red Hat Society Red Hot Mommas . But the most important thing in Nancys life was the love of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Nancys devotion to her faith was an inspiration and example to her seven surviving children, Paul and Beth Lux of Alma, Pam and Cliff Worm of Indian River, Jennifer and Mike Mills of Bath, Matthew and Sheri Lux of Lagrange, GA, Lyle Lux of Wolverine, Edith and Brian Robinson of Baytown, TX, and Charles Jr. and Minde Lux of Mt. Pleasant. Her beloved 18 grandchildren are Jessica (Dave) Crockett, Nicholas (Jennifer) Lux, Laura (Mike) Krebs, Marie, Stephen and Nancy May Lux, Ryan Grisdale, Michael Jr., Sean and Kathryn Mills, Samantha and Sydney Lux and Trevor Embrey, Robert and Brianne Robinson, and Carlie, Zoe, and Abigail Lux; and three great-grandchildren, Davy Crockett, and Clark and Maggie Lux. Nancy is also survived by four siblings, Bill and Judy Walker of Farmington Hills, Donald and Connie Walker of Tawas City, Janet and Ray Winfield of Rochester, NY, and Linda and Bill Evans of Rockford; two half-sisters, Jackie and Craig Cross and Holly and Nathan Painter of Peoria, AZ and their mother, Eileen Walker of Phoenix, AZ; father-in-law, Cornelius Halter of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Lux Sr. in 1998; son, Stephan in 1957; and grandson, Michael Shoe in 1997. The family expresses its deepest gratitude to dear friends, Kathy and Larry Fussman for their companionship and on-going support the last 33 years, and for taking such wonderful care of Nancy while spending her winters in Venice, FL.
