Nancy Ann West, age 69, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, at Crestwood Assisted Living in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Born on April 10, 1957, in Isabella County, Michigan, Nancy was the daughter of Gerald J. and Genevieve E. (Neubecker) Fox. She lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, and a deep care for those around her.

A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in 1975, Nancy soon thereafter married Christopher West on November 7, 1975, in a heartfelt ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. Throughout their marriage, she was a loving wife, steadfast partner, and together they navigated life's challenges with mutual respect and shared decisions.

Nancy embraced the role of homemaker and dedicated many years as a secretary at Allstate Insurance, carrying out her work with diligence and grace. She was a loving mother whose proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. Those who knew Nancy remember her as a loving mother and wife, a devoted friend, and a person who cared genuinely about everyone she met. Her gentle and kind nature earned her the respect and affection of all; truly, no one could say an unkind word about her.

Nancy’s personality shone in the warmth she shared with family and friends. She loved all who were dear to her and was attentive to the needs of others. Among her many endearing habits was her care for the woodland creatures around her home.  She notably ensured that her squirrel friend, Willie, was always fed. Nancy enjoyed simple pleasures such as canoeing and reading and was known for her particular comfort with the thermostat, a fitting quirk since her husband Chris owned an HVAC business. While camping was not her preference, she delighted in glamping experiences, embracing comfort while surrounded by nature.

Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Chris West of Mt. Pleasant; cherished daughter, Jessica (Trevor) Brooks of Belleville; beloved grandchildren, Richard Brooks, Christopher Brooks, and Elise Tefft; son-in-law Robert Tefft of Mt. Pleasant; her brother Jim (Jan) Fox of Grand Rapids; siblings-in-law Patty Fox, Bruce West (Nan Larson), and Michelle Jackson all of Mt. Pleasant; as well as several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter Sara Tefft, and her brother Thomas Fox.

The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation on June 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, located at 2300 S Lincoln Rd, Mount Pleasant, Michigan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 302 South Kinney Avenue, Mount Pleasant. Father Andy Booms will preside. Visitation will be at the church one hour before Mass. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Lincoln Reception Center, 2300 South Lincoln Road.

Nancy Ann West’s life was a beautiful example of love, responsibility, and kindness. Her memory will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, friendship, and community that will be treasured for generations to come.
