Neva Jean (Miller) Cole

Neva Jean Cole, 96, of Weidman, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. She was born June 10, 1928, daughter of the late Clayton and Edith (Foster) Miller. She received her adult education in Remus, graduating in 1971. Her marriage to Ernest Garrett was blessed with five children, Michael, Howard, Philip, Catherine, and Delores. She later married Wayne Cole on September 14, 1969, in Millbrook Michigan. He preceded her in death in 2011. Jean was employed as a clerk by Central Michigan University. Jean enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and attending flea markets. Jean is survived by five children, Michael Garrett of Riverdale, Howard (Alice) Garrett, Phillip Garrett, Catherine Garrett, and Delores Garrett, all of Weidman; seven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Cole; granddaughter, Valerie Mears; infant brother, Paul Miller; two sisters, Alice Baldwin and Doris Sides; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Garrett. Cremation has taken place and Jean's memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, at Lincoln Reception Center. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
