Olive Ivicic, 93, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Prestige Centre in Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass for Olive will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus with Father Ron Wagner as celebrant and Father Don Henkes as concelebrant. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the St. Michael Parish Hall. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Parish or Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the church or funeral home. Olive was born April 6, 1923, in Remus, MI, daughter of the late Jacob and Eva (Gayler) Snider. After graduating from Remus High School in 1942, she married Arthur Mickey Bell later that same year at St. Michael Church. She later married Joseph Ivicic in 1976 at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Pleasant. She worked as a cook at the Mt. Pleasant Center for 18 years, retiring in 1983. She was a life member of the Remus VFW Post 2335 and a member of the state retirees. She was a former parishioner of St. Henry/St. Charles Parish in Rosebush/Leaton where she served as a sacristan and belonged to the Altar Society. She is a current member of St. Michael Parish in Remus. She was very dedicated to sending cards to fellow parishioners over the years. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and most of all, loved giving hugs. Olive is survived by three children, Bernard (Nancy) Bell of Farwell, Bonita (Kenneth) Sumner of Sterling Heights, and Betty Jill Stark of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine Reed of Columbus, OH; numerous nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Vicki Lehnert of Remus; and special friends, Sandy and Bill Salchert and family of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph Ivicic in 1986; two sisters, Genevieve Lehnert and Eva Hoffman; and two brothers, Egbert Snider and Orrin Buck Snider.
