Olivette M. Baker, 85, of Mt. Pleasant died Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at Central Michigan Community Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Don Henkes presiding. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00-10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Olive was born April 27, 1919, in Isabella County, the daughter of David and Violet (Yager) Finnerty. She married LaVerne Baker on Oct. 20, 1961, in Mt. Pleasant. She was employed at Downtown Restaurant for 20 years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and dancing. Olive is survived by her husband, LaVerne Baker of Mt. Pleasant; four children, David Timmer of Lansing, Sharon May of Detroit, Gary (Mary) Timmer of Mt. Pleasant, and Marcia (Jerry Bowles) Baker of Florida; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Luella (Albert) Snider of Remus; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Finnerty of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Quinn and Theresa Neff; and three brothers, Lewie Neff, Robert Finnerty, and Pat Finnerty.
