Oneita L. (Schafer) Moss Nov. 6, 1942April 1, 2016 Oneita Moss, 73, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at her home. A Christian Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Neita was born Nov. 6, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Walter and Wanda (Winland) Schafer. After graduating from Sacred Heart Academy in 1961, she received her cosmetology license from M.J. Murphy Beauty College. She married Roy Moss on August 18, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. For most of her career, Neita worked in the office of Dr. Hans Nowicki. Neitas greatest joy came from spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, and going to great lengths to help others. She enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, spending time with nature and animals, volunteering in the community and watching professional football. Neita leaves behind two children, Noelle Schiffer of Birmingham and Melissa Bayduk of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren, Sydney, Charlie and Teddy Dunn and Owen, Sara and Easton Bayduk; one sister, Claudia (Ed) Joslin of Mt. Pleasant; aunt, Betty Jo (Wesley) Durling of Gaylord; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Brenda and Tony McNeal of Mt. Pleasant, and numerous children that referred to Neita as Nana. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Roy in 2011.
