Orval 'Cub' John Rohen

Orval Cub John Rohen, 98, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant. Cub was born on September 3, 1918 in Evart, Michigan, the son of James Edward and Bertina Edna (Bentley) Rohen. On December 26, 1945, in Evart, he married the former Mary Margaret Brian. Cub was a resident of Mt. Pleasant since 1942. He was the manager of First Automotive for forty-two years. Prior to working for the auto parts store, he was a driver for Gase Bakery for many years. As a veteran of the US Army, Cub was a member of the American Legion Post 110 where he was a Past Commander and a Grand Marshall in a local parade. Cub and Mary enjoyed camping and traveling and trips to the casino. He was a bowler for more than forty years, winning many trophies and awards. He was a graduate of Evart High School, class of 1936. Survivors include his children: Judy and Troy Perkins and Kay and John Tuttle, both of Mt. Pleasant. Cub is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, sons Edward and Johnny and a daughter Linda. Along with two brothers, two sisters and both parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 7 pm from the Rowley Funeral Home with Rev. Connie Bongard officiating. Friends and family will gather on Monday from 6-8 pm at the funeral and again on Tuesday from 4 pm until time of the service. Interment will take place on Wednesday, April 12 at 1 pm at Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart, Michigan beside his wife Mary. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Commission on Aging or the American Legion Post #110. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
