Patricia Campbell, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass for Patricia will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Irishtown with Father John Cotter as celebrant. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery immediately following Mass with a luncheon concluding at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a Memorial contributions may be made to the Commission on Aging. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Pat was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Edward and Nora (Murray) Fitzgerald. After graduating from Sacred Heart Academy in 1940, she married Joseph Arden Campbell on April 22, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant. She was employed by Central Michigan University in administration for over 20 years. She was an avid bridge player, volunteered at CMCH and CMU, enjoyed knitting and traveling, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat is survived by six children, Joseph (Susan Palmer) Campbell of Alexandria, VA, Michael (Sheila) Campbell of Shepherd, Thomas (Kathy) Campbell of Shepherd, Timothy (Tammy) Campbell of Elwell, Catherine Campbell of Alexandria, VA, and Kevin (Lisa) Campbell of Yokota AB, Japan; daughter-in-law, Deb Campbell of Alma; 13 grandchildren, Patrick Palmer-Campbell, Maren Novotney, Christopher Campbell, Jennifer Beck, Steven Campbell, Maureen Karbowski, Aaron Campbell, Dan Campbell, Adam Campbell, Meghan Campbell, Matthew Campbell, Allyson Baumgard, and Timothy D. Campbell; and 12 great-grandchildren, Margaret Palmer Campbell, Elizabeth Novotney, Johnathan and William Campbell, Keegan Ouillette, Grady and Chase Karbowski, Caitlin, Claire and Connor Campbell, and Effie and Mason Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; brother, William; and son, William.
