Patricia Frick, 63, of Midland, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. Pattie was born on January 28, 1960, in Dearborn, daughter of Thomas and the late Joan (Graf) Clauss. She attended Divine Child Elementary in Dearborn and graduated high school from St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School in Ann Arbor in 1978. She earned her BAA in Interior Design from Central Michigan University in 2003. She enjoyed her childhood summers, spending time at the Lower Straits Lake with family. Pattie enjoyed working as an interior designer and at CMU as an adjunct faculty. She also enjoyed her work at The Midland Academy, a K-12 school. On May 13, 2011, Pattie married the love of her life, Stephen Frick in Midland. Together they combined their family of 9 children and made many memories. Pattie was a master gardener, and enjoyed cooking, antiques, farmers' markets, hosting parties, traveling and gathering with friends and family. She will be greatly missed by so many. Pattie is survived by her husband, Steve; children, Dakota Klein of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Wyatt Klein of Tecumseh and Morgan Klein of Midland; step children, Tanisha (Gabriel) Smith of Fairbanks, AK, Evan Frick of Grand Rapids, Noah, Grace, Annalise, and Becca Frick all of Midland; father, Thomas Clauss of Brighton; step mother in law, Ruth Frick of Mt. Pleasant; sisters, Susan (Kevin) Carmichael of Edwardsburg, and Dianne Bright of Brighton; nieces Brenna (Eric) Navarro and Christina Bright; great nieces Kayla Packer and Sonia Navarro; and step granddaughter, Gwendolyn Smith and many brothers and sisters in laws, additional nieces and nephews, and friends, including the friends from Unistrut. She is preceded in death by her mother, Joan (Graf) Clauss; father in law, Carl Frick and mother in law Dolores (Schafer) Frick. Per Pattie's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11 am. at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Pleasant with Father Loren Kalinowski as celebrant. Family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass at the church. A luncheon will immediately follow the Mass at the Lincoln Reception Center, located next to the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses, or to Midland's Open Door homeless shelter, or to an organization of your choosing. Envelopes will be available at the church and funeral home. Pattie's ashes will be interred at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, MI on a later date.
