Patrick Bickert, 80, of Coldwater Lake and formerly of Lansing, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Hospice House of Mid Michigan in Lansing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 25, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Father Patrick Jankowiak presiding. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Church or Hospice of Lansing. Pat was born May 19, 1930, in Lansing, the son of the late Paul Kenneth and Helen Agnes (Kennedy) Bickert. He married Dorothy Bates on April 7, 1956, at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Lansing. A nine year veteran of the Army National Guard, Pat was employed by IBM for 31 years. He moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1991, worked part-time for Graff Chevrolet as a driver, and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. He enjoyed being on the lake and fishing with his grandson. Pat is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, Dorothy; one son, Jeff Bickert of Lansing; one grandson, Cameron Bickert of Lubbock, TX; one brother, John (Lila) Bickert of Tempe, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Maxine (Gailen) Wortley of East Lansing and Elaine (Charles) Richard of Dimondale; and several nieces and nephews.
