Patrick Fussy Fussman, 69, of Lake Isabella and formerly of Holt, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011, at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 10, at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Beal City with Pats cousin, Father Mel Fox presiding and Pats brother, Deacon Larry Fussman assisting. Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery in Denver Township. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Commission on Aging or charity of the donors choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Pat was born March 19, 1942, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Joseph J. and Ida M. (Schafer) Fussman. He graduated from Beal City High School in 1960 and on October 5, 1963, he married Janet Cole at Sacred Heart. In the early 1980s, he earned his designation as a Master Electrician and established Fussman Electric, Inc. in 1983. He continued operating the business until his retirement in 2008. Besides his passion for Nascar racing, some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, gardening, canning, making sauerkraut, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. Pat is survived by his wife, Janet; four children, Jim (Teresa) Fussman of Shepherd, Karen (Ron) Thelen of Holt, Joe (Tina Gates) Fussman of Ithaca and Kevin Fussman of Blissfield; nine grandchildren, Tori and Taylor Fussman, Tyler and Tom Thelen, Kyle, Cody and Desire Fussman, and Jordan and Ashton Fussman; six siblings, Jack Fussman of St. Louis, Larry (Kathy) Fussman of Mt. Pleasant, Mike (Marian) Fussman of Alma, George (Terri) Fussman of Mt. Pleasant, Steve (Linda) Fussman of Mecosta and Mary (Mike) Wanagat of Sandusky, OH; two sisters-in-law, Sheila (Simon) Wernette of Mt. Pleasant and Peggy (Jim Mania) Fussman of Grand Rapids; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Bill Fussman.
