Pearl Leah Naimark, 81, of Chesaning and formerly of Mt. Pleasant and Detroit, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Chesaning Nursing Care Center. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Riverside Cemetery with Jacob Eyal officiating. The family is being served by the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Mt. Pleasant Temple Benjamin Tree grove in Israel, Flint Temple BethEl Music Fund, or Chesaning Nursing Care Center Activity Fund. Pearl was born Jan. 22, 1928, in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Max and Rose (Strykowsky) Kleinbard. She married Irving Naimark (Holocaust Survivor) on June 24, 1951, in Detroit. She was employed by Woolworths as a fountain manager, Aunt Janes Pickle Factory as a pickle packer, and Pizza King in Mt. Pleasant as a bookkeeper. She loved cooking for her family and was an avid reader. Pearl is survived by her daughter, Felicia Naimark of Clio; son, Marc Naimark of Paris, France; sister, Adele (Oscar) Band of West Bloomfield; brother, Israel (Irene) Kleinbard of Livonia; nieces, Barbara (Paul) Rys and Miriam (Brian) Halprin; nephews, Paul Gaba and Charles (Elisabeth) Gaba; and four great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving; parents, Max and Rose Kleinbard; brother, Abraham Kleinbard; and brother-in-law, Dr. Leonard Gaba.
