Peter Anthony Obuchowski Jr.

Peter Anthony Obuchowski, Jr., 87, died October 25 ^th , 2022, at his home.  He was born in Saginaw, MI, on February 5, 1935, to Peter A. Obuchowski, Sr., and Cora Pearl (Smith) Obuchowski. He is survived by his wife, Mary Cynthia (DeJong) Obuchowski, two beloved sons, Timothy Russell Obuchowski and John Peter Obuchowski and cherished grandchildren Evan and Lauren Obuchowski, Ty Nguyen, and Miranda Obuchowski, and nieces Karen Everett, Diane Couture, nephew Joseph (Annie) Couture and Joe's daughter Caitlin, and many in-laws.  He was predeceased by his parents, sister Bonnie Couture, and brother John J. Obuchowski.

Pete was educated at Holy Family High School in Saginaw and served in the U. S. Army as a draftsman from 1953 to 1956. He attended Bay City Junior College, Central Michigan University, and the University of Michigan.  He taught at Port Huron Community College, the University of Michigan, and Central Michigan University, from which he retired in 2000. His field of study was American literature, especially the American Renaissance.

Pete's family is especially thankful to the nurses and staff at ProMedica Hospice as well as his caregivers, Jodi and Heather, for the compassion and assistance they have given during these last few weeks.

Friends and family may gather at 1119 Kent Dr., Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858, on November 19, 2022, from 2 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we suggest contributions to favorite charities.
