Philip N. Tilmann, 45, of Beal City, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2002 at his home. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Immanuel Lutheran Church (320 S. Bradley) in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Terry Nordheim officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sherman-Nottawa Township Fire Department or to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Phil was born December 8, 1956, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Norman Edward and Mary Frances (Sugar) Tilmann. He owned and operated Tilmann Trucking since 1996. He had been hauling wood chips and lumber for the past 25 years. In his spare time he enjoyed repairing small engines, especially Allis-Chalmers tractors. He was a member of the Beal City Businessmens Association. Phil is survived by his son, Matt P. Tilmann of Weidman; three sisters, Barbara Weber of Beal City, Sue (Steve) Kennedy of Winn, and Jan (Jim) Schumacher of Beal City; four brothers, Fred (Pam) Sponseller of Beal City, Dennis (Nancy) Tilmann of Weidman, Tim (Kim) Tilmann of Beal City, and Jeff (Freida) Tilmann of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norm and Mary Tilmann; and his special friend, Jean OConnor.
