Phyllis C. Rodriguez, 71, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Pompano Beach, FL, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at Central Michigan Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will take place. The family is being served by the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant. Memorial contributions may be made to the Commission on Aging. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Phyllis was born June 15, 1937, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of Harvey and Beatrice (Smith) Beauchamp. She married Jose Rodriguez. She grew up in the Upper Peninsula, later moving to Southgate where she worked for the Southgate school system and raised her four sons. In her retirement she and her husband, Jose, moved to Pompano Beach, FL to enjoy both warm weather and the beautiful ocean. In Nov. 2008 she and her husband moved back to Mt. Pleasant to be closer to family. She enjoyed reading books, emailing friends, long drives to nowhere, and spending time with her family and friends. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Jose Rodriguez; three sons, Vincent Amroian of Traverse City, Michael (Cristina) Amroian of Houston, TX, Edward Amroian of Mt. Pleasant; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Amroian of Traverse City; grandchildren, Sara, Jared, Nicholas, and Isabelle Amroian; and one great-granddaughter, Anela Hughes. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Mark Edward Amroian.
