Randy C. Bennett, 53, of Mt. Pleasant died Thursday, March 22, 2007. A memorial service for this gifted man will be held noon, Tuesday, March 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Behenna officiating. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until the service begins. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Ducks Unlimited. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Randy was born June 6, 1953, in Mt. Clemens, the son of Paul and Ruth (Lovas) Bennett. A graduate from Romeo High School in 1971, Randy received a bachelors degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing from Northern Michigan University. He married Carolyn Bridges on April 15, 1978, at Salem United Church of Christ in Farmington and resided in Marquette. They moved to the Seattle area and have since lived in Mt. Pleasant the last seven years. He has spent the last three years working as a financial associate at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. He had also owned and operated an advertising agency in Tacoma, WA and spent numerous years in the television industry. Randy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was involved in Church Council, Stewardship, Endowment, and a volunteer for Chefs with Spirit. His passion in life was wildlife conservation and his dogs, Sage and Tule. He belonged to Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, the National Wildlife Federation, and also helped with Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a great mentor to his nephews. Randy is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Carolyn Bennett of Mt. Pleasant; his daughter, Rachel Bennett; grandchildren, Cyrus and Temple; father, Paul Bennett of St. Johns; brother, Timothy (Kris) Bennett of Spooner, Wisc.; two sisters, Joyce (Donald) Ross of Lansing and Cindy (Andy) Deveau of St. Johns; and nine nieces and nephews, Matt, Heather, Emily, Claire, Paul, Jacob, Dan, Alex, and Zach. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth. Randys wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all.
