Raymond Adams, 78, of Lake Isabella and formerly of Clinton Township passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City (2163 N. Winn Rd., Mt. Pleasant MI 48858) with Father Thomas J. McNamara presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Raymond was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Detroit, the son of Frank and Stella (Banatowski) Adams. He married Joann B. Olszewski on Aug. 31, 1957, at Nativity Of Our Lord Church in Detroit. They have lived in Lake Isabella since 1994. He attended St. Florian High School and later attended Macomb Community College. In 1945 he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and later joined the U.S. Army in 1946. He was honorably discharged in 1947, after serving in the Pacific Theatre in Japan during World War II. He was a reserve until 1951 and has been a life member of the VFW. Raymond worked as a journeyman tool and die maker for Chrysler Corp. Prior to that he had worked for Fisher Body. Some of his favorite pastimes were bowling, fishing, playing bingo, woodworking, and collecting coins. But the love of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. Raymond is survived by his wife, Joann of Lake Isabella; five children, Raymond J. (Gay) Adams of Plano, TX, Francine (Steve) Molicky of Traverse City, Donald (Donna) Adams of Weidman, Carol (Jim) Risher of Sunnyvale, TX, and Paul (Julie) Adams of Green Oaks, IL; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers, Frank J. Adams of Washington Twp., Arthur (Lorraine) Adams of Clinton Twp., Richard Adams of Harrison Twp., Stanley (Susan) Adams of Clifford, and Edward (Shirley) Adams of Taylor;two brothers-in-law, Ray Radzitowski of Brown City and Frank (Marie) Olszewski; a sister-in-law, Miriam Adams of Brighton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Zachary Flippo; one brother, Hank Adams; and his sister, Dolores Radzitowski.
