Rebecca Quillen, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 7, 2021, at McLaren Central Michigan in Mt. Pleasant. She was born May 17, 1956, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of Joseph Martin and Clara Mae (Schafer) Quillen. After graduating from Beal City High School, she earned her bachelor's degree in education from Central Michigan University. She was employed by CMU and retired after a long career. Becky was a coach and athlete and loved competing in softball. Becky's humor, quick wit, kindness, and generous nature will be truly missed. She is survived by her mother, Clara Quillen; four siblings, Linda (Sid) Lundquist of Lansing, Martin (Connie) Quillen of Clio, Charles Quillen of Mt. Pleasant, and Joseph Quillen of Dimondale; nephews, Kevin (Danielle) Lundquist, Ross (Nicole) Lundquist, Ryan (Gina) Lundquist, George (Kari) Quillen, Frank (Jacky) Quillen and Glen Quillen; six great nieces and nephews; and special friend Noah. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Martin Quillen in 2003; sister, Brenda Mae Quillen in 1970; and brother, William Martin Quillen in 1973. A Funeral Mass for Becky will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, November 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski as celebrant. Following Mass, all are invited to Lincoln Reception Center for a meal. Immediately following, Becky's ashes will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Thursday, November 11, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. with a vigil beginning at 6:30 p.m. and at the church on Friday one hour prior to Mass.
