Richard Barratt

Richard Barratt, 61, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Bridgeport passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016, after battling cancer. He was born March 8, 1954, in Bridgeport, Michigan, son of Charles and Margaret (Edmonds) Barratt. Rick graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1972 and earned a bachelors degree from Michigan State University. On October 20, 2002 he married Geneva Beck in Alma. Rick was employed by Second National Bank and FirstBank for 30 years, lastly as Executive Vice-President. Prior to that, and while living in Phoenix, AZ for seven years, he was part-owner and financial manager for several manufacturing companies. Rick leaves behind his loving wife, Geneva; children, Erika (Conan) Barratt-Hines of Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Tyler (Christian) Barratt of Phoenix, AZ, Tina (Andy) Loretto-Garcia of Phoenix, AZ; two granddaughters, Aneciana Garcia of Phoenix, AZ and Ariana Loretto of Mt. Pleasant; and great-granddaughter, Alina Roberts. Also surviving is his 99 year-old father, Chuck Barratt of Saginaw; and brother, Robert (Mei) Barratt of Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Barratt in 2010. His memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State St, Bridgeport, MI 48722, on Saturday, May 7, at 12 p.m. A luncheon will follow.
