Richard Dean Erickson, age 85, of Farwell passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 unexpectedly at home.

Richard was born on September 8, 1932 to Frank and Geraldine (Teelander) Erickson in Cadillac. He was raised in the Tustin area and graduated high school in 1950. Richard attended Michigan State University earning his bachelor's degree and then for the majority of his life he worked for the State of Michigan as a systems analyst. Mr. Erickson served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Richard married Annette Shealey on March 16, 1995 in Corunna, MI. He enjoyed helping people and picking on them, raising goats and chickens, playing cards and spending time with his Amish friends were just a few of the delightful enjoyments of Richards's life. His memberships consisted of being a 32 ^nd Degree Mason, American Legion, Eagles and the Moose Lodge.

Richard is survived by his children; Lee (Ruth) Erickson, Mark (Diane) Erickson, Ann (Bruce) Hutton, Dean (Mary Ann) Erickson, Carl (Gail) Erickson; and Britt (Jeff) Shepherd; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, niece, nephews, cousins and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annette; and brother, Jack Erickson.

Honoring Richards's wishes cremation has taken place.
