Richard James Grace

Richard Grace, 86, of Mt. Pleasant passed away January 23, 2023, at his home.  He was born September 10, 1936, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Floyd and Zerua (Vanhorn) Grace.  He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Lake Superior State University.  His marriage to Barbara Ingram was blessed with six children.  He also fathered three other children.  He had been employed by the city of Mt. Pleasant for over nine years and the State of Michigan as a Corrections Officer for several years.  He served in the United States Army.  He was a longtime Moose Club member.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving around, visiting the casino and watching sports.  Richard leaves behind eight children, Michael (Cecelia) Grace of Pasadena, CA, Michel Grace of Gladwin, Scott (Kathy) Grace of Keystone Heights, FL., Renee (Todd) Fabiano of Harrison, MI., Jeff (Diane) McCord of Orange, Tx., Annette (William) Welsh of Mt. Pleasant, and Kirk Grace of Sault Ste. Marie; fourteen grandchildren, Peter, John, Matthew, Claire, Mackenzie, Miles, Hailey, Breanne, Maegan, Andrea, Tristan, Latasha, Cassondra, and Chezney; and twenty-eight great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Garrett; brother, Lonnie Grace; newborn daughter, Janelle Elise Grace; grandsons, Noah and Benjamin; and granddaughter, Marisa.  Cremation has taken place at Memorial Fields Crematory and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 20, at the American Legion Hall, 209 S.
