Richard Wayne Kelsey, Sr., age 78, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw. Richard was born on February 10, 1937 in Okemos, Michigan, the son of Martin J. and Ada Lillian Sprague Kelsey. Richard married Jerline Kay Dickinson on September 19, 1963 in Clare, Michigan. He was a logger with Maeder Brothers Logging, a farmer, and worked in Grist, Michigan. Richard was an MP in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the NRA, AARP. Richard loved to fish, hunt, and the outdoors. Richard is survived by his wife, Jerline; two sons, Charles of Mancelona and Richard, Jr. of Rosebush; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Frederick (Alberta) of Winn and Martin (Judy) of DeWitt; and two sisters, Betty Hartman of Lansing and Margie Spencer of Saginaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Fayette; a brother, Alfred; a sister, Bobbie Bacon; and a brother in law, Richard Spencer. Memorial services for Richard will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Rowley Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. with Pastors Michael Kelsey and Dave Coconehour officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will be in Lake George Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Saturday the 19th from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the services. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
