Richard Harley Moon

Richard Moon, 63, of Weidman, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at home with his wife by his side. His funeral will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Daryl Amrozowicz officiating. A luncheon will follow at Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Weidman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Richard was born Feb. 13, 1956, in St. Johns, Michigan, son of the late Durwood and Shirley (Drummond) Moon. A 1974 graduate of Ithaca High School, he married Christine Hancock on October 15, 1982, at Weidman Church of the Nazarene. He was employed by Michigan Knife in Big Rapids and was very talented at making stained glass. He enjoyed bird watching and mowing his yard. Richard is survived by his wife, Chris Moon; siblings, Patricia (Miles) Hoffer of Saginaw, Michael (Patti) Moon of St. Joseph, and Randy (Sheryl) Moon of Kentwood; brother in-law, Rob (Diane) Hancock of Sterling Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
