Richard C. Parks

Richard C. Parks, 87, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Gratiot Medical Center. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Richard was born May 13, 1923 in Newberry, Michigan, the son of Leon and Leta (Griffith) Parks. Richard married Reva Woodbury on July 6, 1957 in Weidman. Richard was in the Civilian Conservation Corps before going into the Coast Guard where he served from 1941-1953. He loved watching TV and tinkering with things. Richard was a member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). Richard is survived by his six children, Gary Parks of Arizona, Suzanne (Bruce) Currier of Ionia, Bruce Parks of FL, Della (Mike) Anderson-Smyth, William and Lee Parks all of Mt. Pleasant; numerous grand children, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Reva in 2007; parents; and one brother, Dr. Leland Parks.
