Richard A. Poszczaloski, 79, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Detroit died Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at his residence. Visitation is Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Lux Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at 2:30 p.m. A vigil service will begin at 3:30 p.m. led by Father Jeff Donner of St. Marys University Parish. Memorial contributions may be made to the Commission on Aging. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Richard was born January 15, 1924, in Detroit, the son of Alexander and Mary (Helminiak) Poszczaloski He married Helen Gorzalka on April 6, 1956, at St. Francis DAssisi in Detroit. In his youth he was a part-time musician and later became a wine salesman, serving the Detroit area. He also managed the Knights of Columbus hall in Farmington Hills from 1987-1988. After moving to Mt. Pleasant in 1994 he worked part-time for both Chippewa Beverage and the Salvation Army. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, and camping. Richard is survived by two daughters, Maryann (Frank) Cierpial of Shepherd and Pauline (Floyd) Conley of Livonia; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen in 1997; two brothers; and one sister.
