Richard Lee Scramlin, 90, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Hospice House of Mid Michigan in Lansing. Lee was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Flint, son of the late Richard and Iva (Carl) Scramlin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in both the European and South Pacific Theatres from 1944 until he was honorably discharged in 1946. On Aug. 28, 1954, he married the love of his life, Arlene Haney, in Mt. Pleasant. He was employed as a bank courier for Isabella Bank for over ten years, at which time he retired. Some of his favorite pastimes were traveling, singing, visiting the Winn Senior Center, and spending time with family and friends. Lee is survived by his daughters, Renee (Glenn) Perry of Haslett, and Dr. Judi (Dr. Mark) Jones, of Ypsilanti; grandchildren, Rachael and Sarah Jones; niece and nephew, Connie and Russ Lapham of Perrinton and many more nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, including his special sister, Wilma Hoisington. His memorial service will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Larry Wonsey officiating. A luncheon will follow at the funeral home.
