Rita Ann Deni

Rita Ann Deni, 82, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Woodland Hospice, surrounded by her family. A Funeral Mass for Rita will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Thomas Held presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with the rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Academy Foundation or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Rita was born December 24, 1932, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Schohl) Voisin. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1950 as the class valedictorian. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She retired from the Central Michigan University music department after 30 plus years. She enjoyed reading, traveling with her sisters, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Rita is survived by four children, Mike Deni of Holt, Julie (Jim) Campbell of Lansing, Karen (Rob Land) Hartupee of Pittsburgh, PA, and Mark (Lisa) Deni of Ithaca; grandchildren, John (Heidi), Justin (Diana), Matthew (Brittany), Andrew, Taylor, and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Jack, Brooks, and Christian; sister, Dorothy (Jerry) Sheahan of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law, Kathleen Voisin of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Lillian Webster, Ruth Rakowski, Irene Edwards, Joseph Voisin, Walter Voisin, and Leo Voisin; and niece, Maryanne Webster.
