Rita Eisenberger, 82, of Shepherd, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at home with her family by her side. A Funeral Mass for Rita will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Thomas Held as celebrant. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-7:30 p.m. with the Rosary and a time for sharing memories beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to Mass. Rite of Committal will be in Calvary Cemetery. Following the committal, all are invited to Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home) for a meal. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Rita was born November 30, 1940, in Coe Township, Isabella County, Michigan, daughter of the late Donald E. and Marie E. (Conroy) Huber. She was welcomed into the home by her older siblings, Donna and Ed. She would later welcome her younger siblings, Jerry, Esther, Jim, Ruth, Ken, Bob, and Patty. She attended Sacred Heart Academy through the 11 th grade and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. On May 14, 1960, she married Carl Eisenberger at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Steve, Brenda, Connie, and Marsha. Rita worked in many capacities throughout her life. She was an upholsterer, sewer, bus driver and para-professional at Shepherd Schools, and office manager for Farm Bureau. She eventually became a real estate agent and worked for ERA Realty, Coldwell Banker, and retired after working with Century 21. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping, traveling, and anything family oriented. She and Carl hosted numerous foreign exchange students including Adriana, Isabel, Gerald, Ricardo, Sylvia, and Mariana. Rita is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Carl; three daughters, Brenda (Rob) Stressman, Connie (Jeff) Starks, and Marsha (John) Cline, all of Shepherd; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Esther (John) Haupt of Beal City, Jim (Nonie) Huber of Shepherd, Bob (Gail) Huber of Shepherd, and Patty (John) McHugh of Dade City, FL; in-laws, Dorothy Huber of Shepherd, Penny (Perry) Danielski of Blanchard, Judy Cornell of Weidman, and Erma Sheets of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Marie Huber; son, Steve Eisenberger; siblings and in-laws, Donna and Larry Bullard, Ed Huber, Jerry Huber, Ruth and Ken Abbott, and Ken Huber.
