Rita Grech, 86, of Weidman, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012, at NHC Healthcare, Hillview, in Columbia, Tennessee. A Funeral Mass for Rita will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 14, at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Beal City with Father Patrick Jankowiak presiding.Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the gathering room on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass begins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Rita was born September 28, 1926, in Detroit, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Gatt) Suban. She married Anthony Grech on September 7, 1946, at Holy Trinity Church in Detroit. They resided in Royal Oak until 1976 when they moved to Weidman. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and its CCW, and the Weidman VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, making crafts, and gardening. To quote Rita, I hope that I was a person that got along well with everyone. Rita is survived by six children, Josephine (Jack) Sines of Meadview AZ, David (Beth Anne) Grech of Hamshire TN, Robert (Deb) Grech of Plymouth, Michael (Susan) Grech of Lake Orion, Kenneth (Patty) Grech of Old Hickory TN, and Mary (Robert) Fraquelli of Kingsley; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony in 1999; two brothers, Joseph Suban and Lawrence Suban; and a sister, Mary Farkas.
