Rita Hauck, 87, of Beal City died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 Friday, July 16, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City with Father John Cotter officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph The Worker School or Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Rita was born Aug. 27, 1916, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Charles and Agnes (Daniels) Marz. She married Carl Hauck on May 31, 1941 at Sacred Heart. Her home was a welcome place to anyone and she was known to be a wonderful entertainer and hostess. She also enjoyed playing cards. The center of Ritas life was her family, especially her grandchildren. Rita is survived by one son, Dan (Lorna) Hauck of Lewiston; one daughter, Barb (Dan) Stalter of Shepherd; eight grandchildren, Tarri (Randy) Oeverman, Christopher, Lezlie, and Danny Hauck, and Jamie, Eric, Marty, and Alissa Stalter; one brother, William Marz of Walker; three sister, Eloise Theisen, Margaret Theisen, and Thelma (Tom) Walker, all of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Hauck in 1999; three brothers; and two sisters.
