Robert D. Blubaugh, 73, of Mt. Pleasant died Friday, May 7, 2004, at home surrounded by his family. At Roberts request, his body has been donated to Michigan State University for the advancement of Medical Research and no formal services will be held. Friends and neighbors are invited to a gathering at the Blubaugh home, 115 S. Fancher, on Sunday, May 9, from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Hospice of Central Michigan, 401 S. Main, Mt. Pleasant MI 48858. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Robert was born Oct. 19, 1930, in Midland County, the son of Raymond and Pauline (Pugh) Blubaugh. He married Mary Cascarelli Nov. 30, 1958 at Sacred Heart Church. He served in U.S. Air Force fron 1951-1954 and was part of the Strategic Air Command 7167th special air mission squadron. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW Post 3033 in Mt. Pleasant. He worked as a landman in the oil industry. Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Blubaugh of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Susan M. Blubaugh of Mt. Pleasant and Karen (Robert) Rochon of Redford; three grandsons, Nichalas, Andrew and Ryan Rochon; brothers, John Blubaugh of Midland and Gerald (Jean) Blubaugh of Shepherd; sisters, Betty Spiker of Midland, Margaret (Raymond) Siebert of Midland, Patricia (Joseph) Murawski of Bay City and Carol (Larry) Seifker of Mt. Pleasant.
