Robert Paul Moon

Robert P. Moon Sr., 87, of Lake Isabella died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Central Michigan Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Weidman United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Adams officiating. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Weidman United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Robert was born May 4, 1916, in Gratiot County, the son of Albert and Alta (Shaw) Moon. He married Dorothy Krepps June 21, 1935, in Gratiot County. He was a factory worker for Oldsmobile in Lansing for 28 years, retiring in the mid 1970's. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, deer hunting, auto mechanics, and most of all, his family. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Moon of Lake Isabella; four children, Dean (Mary Lou) Moon of Fremont, Patricia (Jack) Draper of Lake Isabella, Robert P. (Judy) Moon Jr. Of Ithaca, and Gary (Mary) Moon of Florida; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Maynard Moon of St. Johns; and one sister-in-law, Ruby Moon of Eaton Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill and Basil; and two sisters, Leahbelle Braley and Lillian Peters.
