Robert 'Bob' Mote, 84, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023.  Bob was born on September 3, 1938, son of the late John and Anna (Han) Mote in Lansing.  After graduation, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and served for almost five years.  He served in active duty in Norfolk, Virginia, on the USS Krishna. Bob married Karen (Bell) Medlock on August 25, 1981, in Las Vegas, NV.   Bob was a division manager for the secretary of state for 38 years, retiring in 1995.   He listened to country music, and watched western movies with John Wayne, and the series Gunsmoke.  Bob was avid NASCAR and MSU fan. He enjoyed playing a variety of musical instruments, doing jigsaw puzzles and trolling garage sales and casinos.   Bob is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Karen; children, Julia (Ric) Kienbaum, Robert (Sue) Mote and Steven (Sarah Silva)  Medlock; grandchildren, Sarah (Philip) Johnson, Rachel (Eric) Boyer, Aaron (Amanda) Mote, Amber Mote and Ricky Kienbaum; great grandchildren, Madelyn, Oliver, Michael and Avery.  He is preceded in death by both parents and six siblings.  Per Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bob's life will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Bath American Legion, 5480 Clark Road, Bath, MI 48808.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks you send memorial donations to the Karma Kat Café in Mt.
