Robert Edward Schumacher

Robert Schumacher, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in Mt. Pleasant at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.  He was born on August 17, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Henry and Marian (Vincent) Schumacher.  Robert graduated from Beal City High school with the class of 1961.  After graduation he enlisted in the Airforce.  He served from April 4, 1962, to June 1, 1965.  After returning from his enlistment, he became employed with Ferro Manufacturing, he worked for over 20 years, until Ferro closed in the early 1980's.  He continued to work for multiple companies, including Johnson Controls and Magna International, traveling to multiple states, before retiring in 2000.  Robert could not sit for long after retirement.  He acquired his CDL and drove across the country as a truck driver until finally retiring in 2004.  Robert enjoyed fishing, wood working, owls, crossword puzzles and Bingo.  He was known to be a genuine man and will be missed by so many.  Robert is survived by his two children, Scott (Sherrie) Schumacher of Redford, Michigan, and Michael Schumacher of Tennessee; grandchildren, Joshua (Kimberly) Schumacher, Lauren Schumacher, and Robert Schumacher; great grandchildren, Colton and Gregory Schumacher; and brother, Dick Schumacher of East Lansing.  He is preceded in death by both parents; brother, Thomas Schumacher; and daughter in law, Jeannie Schumacher.  Cremation has taken place and there will be no services held at this time.  To sign the online guest book or leave a condolence for the family please visit www.CharlesRLux.com.
