Rodd Doyle Bowen

Rodd Doyle Bowen, 65, passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2023, at his home. He is survived by his children Heather (Bowen) Lashuay and Nick Bowen, his brothers and sisters, and his granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his parents Doyle and Aletha Bowen. Rodd worked at Delfield as well as starting his own business known as R.D. Bowen Construction which became well known in Isabella County. He had a love for woodworking, innovative ideas, and a solid work ethic. Rodd's wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes spread in the Betsie River. Rodd was a proud papa to his granddaughters Jada and Claire – he would drive down on many Sunday mornings bringing donuts to his girls. Anyone who talked to him knew all about his girls and how much he loved them. In his later years, he also enjoyed visiting his son Nick in Florida to soak up the sunshine. He always ended his phone calls with his daughter with "later baby." Rodd was known for his witty humor, his love of bear hunting and fly fishing – spending countless hours with his hunting buddies in the upper peninsula and fishing on the Betsie River in Frankfort. He was a lover of Looney Tunes, Old Westerns, and Classic rock and had a big sweet tooth–oreos and milk were always a staple in his house. Rodd will be forever missed and in his words "later."
