Ronald Edward Creighton

Ronald E. Creighton, (78), of Blanchard, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Laurels, in Mt Pleasant, Michigan where he was recovering from surgery prior to returning home. Ronald, fondly known by everyone as Uncle Ron, was born to Edward and Bernita Bush, of Greenville, Michigan on June 5, 1945, and was the eldest of 9 children and a big brother to eight. Ron was happily retired but worked for the Mecosta County Road Commission and enjoyed spending his free time painting houses and old barns, working on the family farm, gardening, hunting, trapping, and fishing. Ron held many titles in his life, but his favorite titles were being a father, stepfather, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved nothing better than spending time with family and friends. Ron met Shari when they were 16 years old and after only one date, they went their separate ways, raised families, and as fate would have it brought them back together 50 years later and they married on Ron's birthday June 5, 2021, where they "tied the knot" during a small ceremony at their home in Blanchard. Ron and Shari enjoyed each other's company immensely and quickly formed an unbreakable bond often sitting on the back porch watching birds, deer, foxes, and turkeys on their 10-acre home. Ron and Shari kept friends entertained, hosted euchre tournaments, played cribbage, and simply enjoyed their lives together. Sadly, Ron left far too soon but he made sure to make the most of his time with his family and friends who will  treasure these memories forever. Ron is survived by his loving wife Shari (Davis) and his children Jeannie (John) Cain, Scott (Gloria) Creighton, and Cindy (Tonda) Dow and his stepchildren Helne (Brian) Rusk, Angela (Brod) Parker, and Hal (Vicki) Meyers. Ron is also survived by his sisters and brothers Penny Jesko, Mike (Jan) Creighton, Eddie Bush, Tonda White, Connie (Bruce) Whipple, and Rick Bush. Along with his nieces and nephews Bernita, Rob, Elvis, Rocky, Butch, Robin, Tim, April, Ronnie, Brian, Bruce, Candy and thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Bernita Bush, Fred and Barb Creighton, his first wife Jeanette Green, his sisters  Bonnie Sue Bush, and Patsy Beach, his nephews Gary Creighton, Todd Bush,Jeff Bush, and Gary Powell. Ron's Family will host a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24 th , 2024, at the American Legion in Morley (2560 Northland Drive, Morley, MI 49336). Memorial Contributions can be made to Ron's family instead of flowers.
