Roy L. Moss, 68, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Woodland Hospice with family at his side. A Christian Funeral Service will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice, Womens Resource Group of Traverse City or the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Roy was born October 27, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Roy and Agnes Moss. He married Neita Schafer on August 18, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. After graduating from high school, Roy became certified in various skilled trades. He has been employed by Fishers Central Concrete for the last 35 years. Roy enjoyed working on his tractors, jeep, and on Zeldas deer ranch, watching football, reading, camping and traveling in his RV. He made several trips to Arizona and Las Vegas. He never missed watching his favorite old train show every Sunday morning. His happiest times were spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren) and with his dog, Tugger. Roy leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Neita; two children, Noelle Schiffer of Birmingham and Melissa Bayduk of Suttons Bay; six grandchildren, Sydney, Charlie and Teddy Dunn and Owen, Sara and Easton Bayduk; one sister, Bonnie Skalitzky of Shepherd; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Claudia and Ed Joslin of Mt. Pleasant; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Brenda Joslin and Tony McNeal both of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Julie Crowley; father and mother-in-law, Walt and Wanda Schafer, and a brother-in-law, Jim Skalitzky.
