Roy Willis Reava
Roy Willis Reava, age 89 of Laingsburg entered into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, March 16, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at his home.
Roy was born on November 9, 1929 in Flint; he was the son of the late Sherman and Velma (Peters) Reava. He was raised in Grayling and attended the schools and graduated from Grayling. On November 12, 1955 Roy married Genave A White in Grayling and they were married 63 years. Shortly after marriage they moved to Mt Pleasant. Roy worked for the State of Michigan - Department of Natural Resources as a steeplejack, retiring after over 30 years of service. Roy served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, woodworking, gardening, growing flowers, and picking berries; but his most cherished pastime was spending time with his family. When he would find out a friend was in need, he would organize a group to help the friend without that person's knowledge. A family tradition Roy always loved was to read "The Christmas Story" to his family during the Christmas season. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Laingsburg, MI.
Roy leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Genave; children, David (Teresa) Reava, Debra (Dean) Willard, Jannette (Rick) Smith, James (Kim) Reava and Glen (Jennifer) Reava; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Scheffer, Nancy Phillips and Sharol (William) Tatro; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Rebecca, Brian and Angel Willard; and brothers, Duane, Dwight and Richard.
