Sandra Kay Klumpp, age 71, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Divine Living Center in Mt. Pleasant.
She was born on April 15, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Robert and Renelda (Schafer) Klumpp. Sandy graduated from Beal City High School in 1973 and was a dedicated employee for 47 years at Central Michigan Community Hospital (now McLaren Central Michigan). She started as a nurse's aid in Pediatrics but also worked in medical records and billing. Sandy made lifelong friends with some very wonderful people while employed there, friends she cherished and friends who cherished her.
Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved attending sporting events, birthdays, graduations, weddings, and any event of her nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, willingness to help, and devotion to her family.
Sandy is survived by her siblings, Doug Klumpp of Mt. Pleasant, Ted Klumpp of Cedar, Dottie (Greg) Bunting of Cedar, Penny Gross of Beal City, Greg Klumpp of Laingsburg, and Karen (Kim) Rogers of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law, Sharlene Klumpp of Mt. Pleasant; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Renelda Klumpp; brother, Rick Klumpp; and sisters-in-law, Rhonda Klumpp and Kathy Klumpp.
Sandy's memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2026, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A luncheon will follow in the Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). Sandy's cremains will be laid to rest next to her parents at St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City following the luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice.
The family gives special thanks to Heartland Hospice, Rosebush Manor, and the Divine Living Center for their wonderful care of Sandy. Everyone employed by those organizations made her feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Her family truly appreciates them.
