Scott Frederick Weber, 33, of Beal City passed away April 14, 2002 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey as the result of injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident on March 2, 2002. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Father John Cotter officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lux Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9-10 a.m. There will be a vigil service at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beal City Summer Ball or the Benjamin B. Blum Hospitality House (525 W. Mitchell St., Petoskey MI 49770). Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Scott was born April 15, 1968, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of John and Charlotte (Nolan) Weber (Fuzz and Snookie). He graduated from Beal City High School in 1986 where he was actively involved in football. He is a 1989 graduate of the National Hardwood Lumber Association Inspection School in Memphis, Tenn. Scott was a Timber Buyer for Weber Brothers Sawmill in Beal City. He gained much of his experience at an early age by working side by side with his father. Scott was a member of the Michigan Professional Loggers Council and the Michigan Association of Timberman. Scott was a very hard working, outgoing person who loved to travel. Through his free-spirited personality he left a lasting impression on the people he met. Scott is survived by his parents, John and Charlotte Weber of Beal City; sisters, Deb Weber of Dover, NH and Amy (Kevin) Salisbury of Iron River; brothers, Rick (Pam) Weber and Dan (Chris) Weber, both of Beal City; niece, Melissa Weber; nephews, Mark, Paul, Ryan, Chad and Kevin Weber, and Cal and Carson Salisbury; aunts and uncles, Ben (Shirley) Weber, Ed Weber and Kathryn Straus, all of Beal City, Millie Ayling of Mt. Pleasant, Helen Chateauneuf of Amesbury, MA, and Jane Nolan of Billerica, MA; and many cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Elaine Bennett; uncles, Paul Nolan, Daniel Nolan, and Gerald Straus; and his grandparents, Charlotte Ciani, Daniel Nolan, and Jake and Eleanor Weber.
